The Friends of Tincombe were overjoyed when the Saltash Scrapstore decided to donate Tincombe Park a modern recycled bench.
On 6th February 2022 Peter Ryland and the Saltash Scrapstore committee officially opened this bench which has a view over Trematon Fort and St. Stephens Church.
A massive team effort has gone into creating this restful new space for Tincombe and it’s visitors.
The long list of people that have been involved in this project include the following. The Saltash Scrapstore ( for donating the bench . Jason for basically engineering the whole project from start to finish.
Jason has an amazing eye for detail and the aesthetics would be nowhere near as nice if I was left to my own devices! I can’t thank you enough Jason.
The other players involved in operation ‘comfy bench‘ include the committee, Chris (clearing, digging, levelling + cementing)), Grenville (clearing, supply of trailer for transport + levelling)), Bob and his dog (dead hedge, and a few odd holes!), Kim (gardening), Rebecca (donating plants and gardening), Mark (transport), Adrian ( clearing, levelling, plant donation + gardening) and Jay ( fixing in + moving the bench ( 4 times )).
Also thanks to Claire (plant donations), Louis and Richard (Postcrete + cement) and Mike (wood for frame donation. Very sorry if I have missed someone, I’m sure I have!
IF YOU HAVE READ THIS FAR AND WATCHED THE VIDEO THEN YOU HAVE AN INKLING AS TO HOW MUCH WORK HAS BEEN INVOLVED.
Thank you all again for such a great result
